Conservative restoration of the interiors (Musiva Chapel of Madonna della Salute) and exteriors (glass dome and brick and stone walls)

The Shrine of San Camillo de Lellis is a project developed by Eng. Mons. Spirito Maria Chiappetta, who was inspired by the neo-Gothic Nordic style and gave great attention to the balance of every detail of the sacred place.
The project was used as an example for the implementation of maintenance and conservative operations which were carried out during three main phases.
The first one involved the restoration of the Sacello Musivo [Mosaic Chapel] of Madonna della Salute, which is located behind the high altar; the second one concerned the recovery of the glass dome on the roofing providing protection and support for the admirable artistic glass wall of the Virgin; finally the last one affected the surfaces of the main façade and the external elevations.
