Valorisation of Conca delle Gabelle and creation of a “canal fountain”

The project aims to increase the value of this canal basin, owned by Milan municipality, by means of a proper restoration and of the reintroduction of “vital” running water with the creation of a special "Canal Fountain" through the reutilization of an idle well. The purpose is basically directed to the preservation of this historical artwork, recently recognized as a national monument, through specific interventions designed for the maintenance of historical and architectural buildings . The project of the "Canal Fountain” is focused on water use , but most of it is directed to the restoration of the basin and of its gates and bridge, all XV century architecture examples, which will return the Conca to its original and unique charm. The history of the oldest hydraulic architecture artwork and of its restoration will be illustrated by means of informative panels.
