Repositioning of Bergognone wooden tables -  Addition of support and finishing elements - Lighting and completion of the paintings

A fresco ascribed to Bergognone entirely covered one of the walls, where six saints were inserted in a large loggia whose pillars in foreground supported the ribs of the lunettes in the vault. On the contrary, the original front wall was made with bricks and covered by closets.
The wholeprospective system is complete both in the foreground and in the background, whereas in altar pieces it is usually limited to the background inside the altar pieces themselves.
The aim of the interventions was to insert new pictorial elements in order to enhance the value of the altar pieces and of the overall image . Paintings of the sixteenth century thus received some elements of the present architectural culture, finding again through new forms some elements of the classical tradition: the pilaster, the system of grooves, the frame, the entablature and the capital. A lighting system was set up, taking care that supports could not affect the view of the decorations of walls and vault, and avoiding effects of reflection, which do not exist on frescoes, but occur on the oil painted wooden altar pieces.
