Interior renovation and preservation: dome, presbitery, naves and transepts

These renovation works represented an important challenge due to the presence of a protective shiny coating covering the painted figures which reflected the light preventing a proper view from the ground.
Such an intervention was outside any traditional restoration procedure and deeply modified the chromatic films. A series of cleaning tests and accurate adjustments,  as well as the application of specific matting products have now allowed the visitors to enjoy again the rich decorative heritage of this church.
