Restoration, restructuring and static consolidation of the tower

Interventions  were decided by the Municipality Administration of Trezzo sull'Adda before 2005 but started only at the end of 2011.
They included the following operations:

- restoration and preservation of interiors and exteriors of the tower

- static consolidation of walls and vault

- maintenance works such as arrangement of the top part; creation of the new flooring on the ground floor;

closure of the existing openings (vents and windows) by means of new windows; closing of the putlog holes; construction of the new roof at the top closing the stairwell by means of a sentry box

- reutilization of the tower removing the existing iron staircase and building a new Cor-Ten steel one; setting up of a reception area on the ground floor and installation of street furniture elements on top

- safety interventions such as refurbishment of the entire exterior walls.

Works are expected to end within 2012 making accessible - after testing - the entrance and the path along the new scale in spring 2013.

The intent of the Municipality Administration is to bring back the tower to the town and to all other users in the best possible conditions acting as a small but fascinating museum: enriching the rise with exhibition spaces and illustrative material, as well as installations for visitors (digital totems, etc.) at strategic points with the goal of reaching the summit (over 40 meters high) where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surroundings of Adda river.

After completion of the works, new guided tours - for a limited number of people due to safety reasons - will be scheduled.
