Safety and restoration works of a part of the perimetral walls of the Visconti Castle in Trezzo sull'Adda

Starting from 2010, the Municipality Administration of Trezzo sull'Adda focused part of its efforts to secure and to restore the walls of the Visconti Castle. For this purpose, always in 2010, Trezzo Municipality together with the Adda Nord Park and about twenty local institutions joined the AREA INTEGRATED PROJECT (PIA) called "Passage on Adda - from Leonardo to Expo: sustainable circuits and itineraries beyond 2015”. This project was submitted for Government funding through POR (Regional Operational Programme) according to Lombardy region call for proposals FESR 2007-2013 ASSE IV.
Before design phase – carried out with the agreement of the Commission for Architectural Heritage and Landscape of Milan - diagnostic tests were performed to assess the characteristics of the interventions required. The final project – still ongoing - started in July 2012 and it is expected to end by the beginning of 2013. The ultimate goal of the Municipality of Trezzo sull'Adda is the recovery - ensuring the safety of people and things - of the walls so to preserve their life and to enhance their aesthetic and historical value.
