Restoration efforts of the pronaos, façades of the church of San Martino and of the Parish house

The restoration efforts carried out affected the façades of the church and of the parish house and the pronaos of the church of San Martino in Carpiano. The façade of the parish house was characterized by the peculiarity of having large areas covered with lime plaster; from the stratigraphic investigation carried out on the building, it was clear that the entire facade was designed to be plastered. It was decided, therefore, to cover with plaster the portion of the façade without plaster using a plaster similar to the existing one (maintained and restored), but using a special technique called "sagramatura." On pronaos it was necessary to act from the structural point of view, consolidating and stiffening the masonry structure and circling the columns with stainless steel rings, the solution was chosen for its reversibility.
