In 2002, the Commissioner for Architectural and Landscape Heritage of Milan, began the restoration of the rooms on the first floor of Cascina Monastero of Santa Maria at Baggio, currently the headquarters of the Area #7 of the Municipality of Milan. The aim was to prevent the loss of the decorations retained therein. In the second half of 2005, always with Government funds, they proceeded to the important so-called "Ceremonial Hall" through the restoration of the paintings of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, the restoration of terracotta floor, the removal of the plaster lowering that hid the frescoes in the oldest palimpsest and a new lighting. During the intervention, small fragments were analyzed and an in-depth historical iconography research was conducted , thus allowing to identify a strong link between images represented and texts found in the library of the convent.
