After the successful discovery of the church of San Biagio in 1977, that was saved after a decade-long neglect, the small church underwent an initial consolidation, carried out with Government funds in 1991, which stopped the severe degradation, and reopened the possibility of a new rededication and reopening, very much felt in the area. Ten years later, in 2001, the Commission for Architectural Heritage and Landscape started, again with Government funding, a huge set of diagnostic tests, graphic and photographic, structural, material, static and pictorial ones, with the first installation design, all aiming at clarifying the studies and knowledge "in the field" of the church of Rossate, as well as establishing the basic choices and decisions, on the basis of new discoveries, needed for the final restoration project.
