Conservative restoration of roofs and façades

The restoration work carried out on the exterior surfaces of the Church of St. Mary “alla Fontana”, anticipating the restoration of the decorative surfaces of the interior, aimed at the safety of the building. Starting from the restoration of the internal decorated surfaces and in order to avoid, at a later stage, the results being compromised due to external agents of deterioration, a careful analysis of the exterior surfaces was carried out, starting from the shell and installations dedicated to the removal of rainwater. Using the scaffolding already in place , the restoration work was continued by acting on the façades. The company in charge of the works was Luzzana Restauri of Civate, and the operations lasted from September 2006 to October 2007. The main objective pursued already in the design phase, and later during the restoration, was to achieve a color balance in the overview, while maintaining the interpretation of the various phases of construction of the monument.
