Project of conservation and restoration of the exterior façade
The project - which required a great analytical effort - is limited to operations able to ensure longer life to what we have so far. The central idea of the project is not limited therefore to stop the deterioration that inevitably occurs, but it intends to delay new unavoidable interventions. It mainly includes conservative operations necessary to control and eliminate, where possible, the pathological forms of degradation on each type of material: sculptures made by soft stone of Vicenza (black crusts, disintegration and lack of stone), Poltragno strain of the capitals and corbels of the pediment (disintegration, black crust, fractures and runoff), Candoglia marble pedestal and portal (black crusts and runoff), stucco decorations in the face-up (disintegration, pulverization and lack of material). In particular, the project concerns the biocide treatment, cleaning of the plaster, of the stone elements, of stucco and their consolidation, and the final application of water repellent protective.
