Conservative restoration

The historical area of St. Maria at San Satiro includes the high medieval tower called dell'Ansperto, the Byzantine Sacellum of San Satiro, the Baptistery and the Cathedral of St. Maria.
The restoration works involved the exterior of the basilica of St. Maria - front on Via Torino  and the one on Via Falcone - the roofs and the interior of the sacristy of Bramante. For the Byzantine Sacellum of San Satiro the front of Bramante and the roofing it were rebuilt; the bell tower dell’Ansperto was fully restored and reassembled in the altered parts; restoration of the frescoes of the four evangelists on the dome and tambour were carried out inside the Cathedral.
The internal interventions were completed by a new lighting system in the nave, in the dome and in Bramante’s perspectives.
