Restoration works

The works carried out inside the stables belong mainly to two distinct areas: the surface treatment (cleaning, filling and aesthetic enjoyment), and works relating to the structural apparatus artefact.
The processes followed the directions of the manager of operations, and, if required, were anticipated by sampling and assays. In fact, most of the interventions that have characterized the development of the project, both in terms of affected areas and timing, involved the structural apparatus. Walls and ceilings had extensive and advanced instability phenomena and showed debonding of the parts and brick elements in the process of detachment, compromising the safety of the environment and the stability of the vestments. The processes that have been carried out to overcome the advanced stage of structural degradation followed an integrated method that specifically consisted of several steps. Operations related to surfaces of the walls, which have been the starting point, followed by the different phases of cleaning. These were carried out in different ways, depending on the type of degradation and on the type of materials. Along with diseases related to the phenomena of moisture seepage and slope (which led to the formation of salts and concretions), anthropic phenomena were there, such as the massive presence of cement mortars and bland overlapping the original walls.
