Reuse and upgrading project of the former offices of the Commission inside the Senate Palace, seat of the State Archives of Milan

The project is part of the wider restoration, operational and standardization adjustment programme of the State Archives of Milan, approved in December 2004. The rooms of the School of Archival and Paleographic Studies are hosted in the wing overlooking via Senato.
The area under restoration is organized into three different levels, in the former offices of the State Archives Commission. This is a meaningful part of the present Senate Palace, as it is one of the few areas where traces of the original artifact survived the massive bombings of World War II. The presence of the XVII century wooden attics and of vaulted structures witness the importance and the value of this part of the edifice.
